Akshaya Bhargava

Akshaya Bhargava is a seasoned executive with over 25 years of experience in the clean energy sector. As the CCO of TerraForm Power (TERP), he drives revenue growth, portfolio optimization, and strategic partnerships. Previously, he was the COO of RWE Clean Energy, overseeing a 10 GW portfolio and serving on its Board. At Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses (CEB), Akshaya managed a 4 GW renewable and battery energy storage portfolio, contributing to transactions worth over $10 billion.
Before his clean energy career, Akshaya was an Assistant Manager at Reliance Industries Limited, optimizing petrochemical plant operations. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from IIT Roorkee and an MBA in finance from the University of Maryland. Akshaya is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Akshaya serves as the CCO of TerraForm Power (TERP) responsible for driving revenue growth, portfolio optimization, and strategic partnerships across the company’s renewable energy assets. He leads commercial strategy, power marketing, and customer engagement to ensure sustainable, long-term value creation.
Previously, Akshaya served as the Chief Operating Officer, of RWE Clean Energy. He oversaw the profitability and operation of RWE Clean Energy portfolio of 10 GW. Akshaya also serves as an Executive Director on the Board of RWE Clean Energy.
Akshaya before joining RWE Clean Energy was the Vice President, Assets of Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses (CEB). At CEB he was responsible for the growth and profitability of the renewable and battery energy storage portfolio of more than 4 GW. Akshaya was a lead member of the team that closed on transactions worth more than $10 billion, growing the business from startup to the second-largest solar energy owner and operator in North America and a leader in C&I and utility-scale battery storage.
Akshaya oversaw professionals in development, project management, construction management, and finance. Akshaya and his team developed clean energy resources for more than a decade and delivered projects on time and on budget.
Before transitioning to clean energy, Akshaya was an Assistant Manager at Reliance Industries Limited, where he led a multidisciplinary team, including union workers, in a petrochemical plant. There, he optimized daily production while ensuring safe and reliable operations.
Akshaya earned his bachelor’s degree with honors in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, and his MBA with a specialization in finance from the Smith School at the University of Maryland where he was awarded the Texaco scholarship. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
