Mark Noyes

President and CEO

Mark Noyes is a renewable energy leader recognized for his expertise in mobilizing diverse stakeholders to deploy cutting-edge solar, wind, and battery storage critical to our planet’s future.

Mark serves as the CEO and Board Member of TerraForm Power (TERP).

Prior to joining TERP, he structured Con Edison’s Clean Energy Businesses (CEB) in 2009, and grew it from startup to the second-largest solar energy owner and operator in North America with more than 4GW of operating renewable energy projects and a 10GW development pipeline. In October 2022, he led the sale of the CEB’s to RWE Clean Energy and remained as the CEO through January 2024 to facilitate the combination of the CEB business with the RWE business.

During his 35-year career, Mark has developed innovative energy solutions for small enterprises and large investor-owned energy companies. He began his professional career at Con Edison. He ascended to vice president of asset management and acquisition and was named to Crain’s New York Business 40 Under 40. Mark left Con Edison and launched two startups. He founded WebGen Systems and CPower and then successfully exited them to major domestic and international utilities. Throughout this entrepreneurial period, Mark advised energy clients on renewable innovations, technology, and acquisitions as the principal and managing partner at B4U Services. In 2008, he returned to Con Edison as vice president of Con Edison Development and then founded CEB in 2009.

Mark is also an inventor; he holds a patent for automatic energy management and energy consumption reduction, with a focus on commercial and multi-building systems.

Mark earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and his MBA with a concentration in operations and finance. He was a certified energy manager (CEM®) and certified sustainable development professional (CSDP®) with the Association of Energy Engineers.
